本作品は、神謡（カムイユカラ）や祭事、歌や踊りなど、音楽を通じて育まれてきたアイヌ文化の精神世界を、立体音響によって体験するインスタレーションです。アイヌの人々は、独特の旋律やリズミカルな語り、歌や踊りを通じて、自然や神々、共同体との関係を表現してきました。本作品では、そうした文化の背景にある音の記憶に着目し、「もしアイヌの暮らしを音だけで体感できるとしたら」という発想から制作を行いました。立体音響技術を用いることで、体験者の周囲に音を立体的に配置し、まるで人々が輪になって踊り、歌い、語りかけてくるような没入体験を構築しています。失われつつある文化の記憶と最先端の音響技術を結びつけることで、アイヌ文化に確かに存在した豊かな精神世界へと来場者を誘います。
The Ainu people have preserved their culture through oral tradition for generations, passing down stories, songs, and rituals without written language.This installation explores the spiritual world of Ainu culture through immersive spatial audio, drawing inspiration from oral literature such as Kamuy Yukar (divine epics), traditional songs, dances, and ceremonial practices.The project began with a simple question: What if the life and worldview of the Ainu people could be experienced through sound alone?Using spatial audio technology, sounds are positioned throughout the listening space, surrounding visitors with voices, rhythms, and sonic textures that evoke the presence of a living community. The experience aims to create the sensation of being immersed within a circle of singing, storytelling, and ritual performance.By combining emerging audio technologies with cultural memory, the installation invites visitors to engage with the rich spiritual heritage of the Ainu people and reflect on what may be lost as societies continue to modernize.
