UnLikeの音楽は、人々の営みの中で心が揺れ動いたり、感覚が響き合う体験をしたりしたときに生まれます。平たく言えば、「これは音楽になりそうだ」と思えるような、「詩情性」を感じる瞬間が訪れるのです。それは誰かと過ごした夏の雨上がりのアスファルトのにおいだったり、ポストに届いた封筒を開ける瞬間の胸の高鳴りだったり。心のひだに何かウェットなものが引っかかったらそれが音楽のはじまりかもしれません。人は同じ世界を見ていても感じ方や受け取り方はそれぞれで常に孤独の中に生きています。環境は共有できても世界は共有できないのです。だからこそUnLikeは人々の中にある複雑なアイデンティティを音楽に昇華するべく、特定のジャンルにこだわらず、さまざまな種類の音楽や楽器を取り入れています。
UnLike’s music is born from moments when hearts sway and sensations resonate within the experiences of people’s lives. Simply put, it arises from moments that evoke a sense of “poetic beauty,” where one can think, “This could become music.” It could be the scent of asphalt after a summer rain spent with someone or the exhilaration felt when opening a letter received in the mail. If something moist lingers in the folds of your heart, it could be the beginning of music. Even though people may perceive the same world, their feelings and interpretations are unique, and they constantly exist within their own solitude. While environments can be shared, the world itself cannot. That is why UnLike, in order to transform the complex identities within people into music, incorporates various types of music and instruments without being confined to a specific genre.

UnLikeの音楽はひとつのジャンルにとらわれず、その時々に発信したいメッセージに合う最適解を見つけていき、それは曲ができた後も続きます。例えば、ある曲をピアノとギターとベースとドラムで演奏する想定でつくったとします。しかし、楽譜はあくまでも柱に過ぎません。曲を演奏する人たちやその時間を共有する人たちによってどんどん形を変えていくことを喜ばしいと捉えています。ある時はギター1本、ある時はオーケストラやサンプラーで演奏してもいい。つくり手の元を離れ、多くの人々に聴かれ弾かれて新たな魅力をまとってほしいのです。ただそれを実現するためには楽曲そのものに普遍性や幹が必要です。どんな状況下でも力を持ち続けられる楽曲をつくっていくことが僕達にできることだと考え、日々音を紡いでいます。
The music of UnLike transcends any specific genre, seeking the optimal solution that aligns with the intended message at any given moment. For instance, let’s say a composition is initially created with piano, guitar, bass, and drums in mind. However, the sheet music merely serves as a foundation. UnLike embraces the ever-changing nature of the music as it is performed and shared among different individuals and moments in time. It could be played with just a single guitar at one point, or with an orchestra and samplers at another. The goal is for the music to depart from its origin and be heard and played by many, acquiring new charms along the way. However, to achieve this, the composition itself needs to possess universality and a solid core. We believe that creating music with enduring power under any circumstances is our responsibility, and thus we weave sounds together day by day.

UnLikeの音楽は、演奏する人たちによって新たな魅力をまとわせてもらい、どんどん形を変えていくものなのでパフォーマンスされることを前提としてつくっています。そこで何よりも大切にしているのは、楽譜に忠実に演奏することでも、楽器の上手な人を集めることでもなく、聴いている人が日常を脱ぎ捨てて没入体験ができるかどうかです。僕らはつい目の前の問題や、今すぐにやらなくてはいけないことに気を取られて、それが世界のすべてのように感じてしまいます。しかし、音楽にはそれらを忘れさせる力があります。そして、時には違う世界を見せてくれます。それを機に自分自身が自由になったと感じられることもあるでしょう。そんな新しい瞬間に出合い、視野が広がるきっかけになるような作品をつくっていければと願っています。
We create music with the intention of it being performed, allowing it to be adorned with new charms by the performers and constantly evolving. Above all, what we value most is whether the listeners can immerse themselves and experience a departure from their everyday sensations. We often find ourselves preoccupied with immediate problems and the sense that they consume our entire world. However, music has the power to make us forget those concerns and, at times, show us a different world. It can even make us feel liberated. Our aspiration is to create works that lead to encounters with such novel moments, expanding horizons and becoming catalysts for personal freedom.
